I sincerely enjoy digging into a subject—researching, interviewing, learning how things work or what makes people tick. Feature writing makes the most of my skills, too. Along with a journalism degree, I have a natural curiosity and an ability to put people at ease in interviews.

I've profiled billionaire businessmen, extreme athletes, eclectic artists and entertainment legends such as Tony Bennett and Robert Redford. I've introduced readers to a woman who free dives the depths of the Atlantic, and to folks who gave up their homes for life on the road in an RV. Other stories have explored the financial challenges facing the National Park Service, the cultural phenomenon of the Green Bay Packers, the fascinating work of MacArthur fellows and the power of ocean waves as a new energy source.

Along with coming in handy at cocktail parties, working on all these stories has helped me cultivate a wonderful network of sources—scientists, industry experts, government officials—to draw upon for stories.
